Pretty Little Liars Series: Emily Fields

It’s my final installment in my Pretty Little Liars series and I’m so excited to share with you my Emily Fields Inspired Look!

Don’t forget to check out my Aria, Hanna and Spencer Inspired looks too!!

MAKEUP

Emily’s look is naturally and effortlessly flawless. The trick to her makeup is to make it look like its effortless…even if you put more time into than you’d like people to believe.

-Rustic Mornings

I started with a sheer application of foundation to mimic her natural skin. With Emily, the eye makeup is as simply as it gets. I took a black eyeshadow on an angled brush and drew a thin line. Then I slightly filled in my brows, applied mascara and used concealer to help with problem spots and under eye darkness.

-Rustic Mornings (1)

Emily is naturally bronzed, so I added a bit of PopBeauty bronzer to my contour zones. Then I used MAC Warm Soul for blush to add some subtle, warm color. To finish up I applied a nude lip from Maybelline. That was easy wasn’t it!?

THE HAIR

Emily’s hair changed from time to time, but I thin her classic hairstyle is big waves.

Corrector Colors

I used a medium size barrel to curl large pieces of hair away from my face. After I did that to my whole head, i gently ran my fingers through my hair to soften the girls. Emily’s look is the most straightforward and easy inspired look ever!!

THE OUTFIT

I’ll be the first to say that Emily and I have very different styles. She’s so laid back and simple, while looking stunning at the same time. (I have to put in effort. Not fair)

Although I’m sad to see this series end, I’ve had a lot of fun pretending to be other people these last few weeks! I hope you’ve enjoyed this series as well! Let me know who I should be inspired by next!

Remember, you’re only as stunning as your inner beauty. But a little lipstick never hurt 😉

Pretty Little Liars Series: Spencer Hastings Inspired Look

I’d be a liar (pun intended) if I told you I’m a regular PLL viewer. I’m so behind on this series, it’ll be over before I finish the first season. But! I was super inspired by their different styles that I wanted to show you how I would adapt their makeup, hair and fashion styles to embody them myself. Hope you enjoy!   -A (Just kidding it’s Jacqueline…or is it?)

Don’t forget to check out my Aria Montgomery and Hanna Marin looks too!

Today’s look: Spencer Hastings

THE MAKEUP

Spencer’s makeup has a few classic features: her skin is naturally flawless, her eyes are usually natural and a bit smokey, her face and lips are primarily nude.

Because her skin is so perfect naturally, she usually wears very sheer foundation, which is exactly what I did.

{Primer} {Foundation} {Eyelid Primer}

Her eyes are very natural smoked out a bit on the outer corner. The color appears to be swept upwards from the outer V towards the brow.

spen 2

{Transition color} {Warm Brown}

I finished up the eyes with the highlight on the inner portion of the lid.

Spen 3

{White shadow} {Gel liner}

Next I curled my lashes to get Spencer’s long las line. Then I did the following typical makeup steps: Mascara, concealer, eyebrows and powder.

-Rustic Mornings

THE HAIR

Spencer’s hair is the most diverse of all the Liars. It’s been curled, straight, in between, in ponytails, braids. Everything. So today to switch it up I decided to straighten it and put it in a pony tail.

THE OUTFIT

I love Spencer’s Style. It’s so professional chic. This is how I matched her style with mine.

Pretty Little Liars Hanna Marin Inspired Look

I’d be a liar (pun intended) if I told you I’m a regular PLL viewer. I’m so behind on this series, it’ll be over before I finish the first season. But! I was super inspired by their different styles that I wanted to show you how I would adapt their makeup, hair and fashion styles to embody them myself. Hope you enjoy!   -A (Just kidding it’s Jacqueline…or is it?)

This week I decided to start off with the beautiful Hanna Marin!

THE MAKEUP

Hanna’s makeup is always perfect for her stunning blue eyes (that I wish I had). To mimic her eye makeup, I went for a gray smokey eye with hints of blue.

I started with L’Oreal Magic Lumi Primer and Benefit’s Hello Flawless foundation.

An optional step at this point is to use a light blue all over the lid, for an extra pop of blue like some of Hanna’s looks.

Collage 2

After finishing these steps, I used Wet n Wild’s blue liner in 695A on the lower lashline and blended that out with the same transition color. Then I applied mascara, filled in my brows, applied concealer and powder.

For the face, I kept it simple with no bronzer and just a light coral.

THE HAIR

Hanna’s hair is effortless tousled. I used a medium sized barrel and alternated curling pieces away and towards my face.

THE OUTFIT

There is only one article of clothing that came to mind for Hanna’s look immediately: a blazer.

Back to School: Sorority Recruitment Outfits and Advice

Title

It’s almost time kids! That’s right: Its almost time to hit the hallways again. With school days quickly approaching I created a series guide to help all those trendy girls out there transition from summer to studying. Don’t forget to take a look at the other addition to this series on Back to School,  Makeup! Next week’s topic: Fashion!

Today’s subject: RECRUITMENT

Hello PNM’s!

I was once in your shoes (really uncomfortable wedges) and know exactly how you feel. Whether you know all there is to know about recruitment or you’re going in blind, I put together some outfits and advice from someone whose gone through recruitment, and is seeing it from the other side as well!

Sorority Recruitment- (1)

Disclaimer: Every school is different so some of these days and themes may not apply to you.

Casual Wear: Some do it the second day, mine was on my first. Typically Panhellenic will provide a Tshirt for PNMs to wear one day. Match it with your cutest shorts or pants if you feel more comfortable! I wore the outfit to the left to my recruitment!

Casual

Shorts: Lily Pulitzer   Anything Lilly goes. Any day.

Sandals: Jack Rogers

Casual: My school didn’t have this round, but a lot do. This is your chance to show how effortlessly beautiful you can be!

Casual (1)

Dress: Apricot Lane  Similar dress here

Semi-Casual: Not too casual, not too fancy. Just right. I wore the one on the left!

SemiCasual (2)

Dress On the Left: Original Piece   Similar dress here

Dress on the Right: A’Gaci   Similar dress here

Cocktail Dress: Whatever you do, do try to show off any body parts you think are hot. Showing your womanhood may impress frats but sororities are not going to dig it from the start. I wore this dress to my rush (when it fit better!)

Advice

Be Yourself

If it’s one piece of advice you should listen to, it’s this one. Girls will pick up on you trying to be anyone but yourself. Remember, your looking for your home. The girls need to see you for who you truly are.

Don’t Take Off Your Shoes

Trust me, if you take them off and put them back on, they will have swollen up and now feel much worse.

Go in With an Open Mind

Even if you go in with your mind made up, don’t let that consume you. Take in every sorority and have fun! You will probably only have one chance to go through rush (i totally envy you’re opportunity to see all the sororities)

Practice Talking About Yourself

It sounds weird but it’s all you’ll do for three days. Think about what you’re proud of, what you like to do, and what makes you who you are. And learn to say it in a way that doesn’t sound cocky.

Practice Talking to Strangers

Sounds stupid but most of us are used to talking to people who already know us or it’s a gradual process. Recreuiment is more like “OMG HEY NICE TO MEET YOU TELL ME YOUR LIFE STORY” So practice talking to strangers.

Don’t Let Anyone Influence Your Decision

This is your decision. Not your best friend’s. your sister’s or your Aunt Suzie’s

Don’t Judge Sororities With Superficial Motives

Appearances don’t matter. Perfection on the inside doesn’t always reflect the inside.

Hydrate and Eat

We don’t want to pass out

Bring Sweats, Pillows, and a Blanket

It can be a long time in between parties

Don’t Be Heartbroken

Sad truth is a lot of girls get dropped by their first choice. If that’s you, don’t be the girl who cries. It’s a big decision, but give what you were given a shot. You might find your home where you least expect it.

HAVE FUN

Don’t get stuck in your head, be stressed or have anything less than a good time! Every girl already in a sorority would LOVE to be able to go through this again. Like seriously I regret not having more fun with it.

I hope everyone has an amazing recruitment!! Please send me any questions, concerns or stories you might have!

Remember, you are only as stunning as your inner beauty. But a little lipstick never hurt 🙂

XOXO,

Jacqueline
